The Tempo E2520 and E2521 are hand held, battery powered, solid state time domain reflectometers that accurately locate faults on cables. They can be used on most types of cable from telecommunications tables, such as twisted pairs and coax, to power distribution cables. The Tempo E2520 and E2521 are supplied in a rugged padded pouch with provision for carrying the test leads and instruction manual in the rear of the compartment. The batteries to power these instruments are housed in a compartment in the case bottom, accessed by a lid with two retaining screws. The instruments can be powered by manganese-alkali or nickel-cadmium rechargeable batteries. Both instruments in the range mode have a balance control that can be adjusted, using the thumb wheel, to cancel out the transmitted pulse.
