The Agilent 8164A Lightwave Measurement System supports a range of high-performance tunable laser modules, as well as all of the fixed source and sensor modules of the Agilent 8153A and Agilent 8163A Lightwave Multimeter series.

• Trigger: True synchronous all channels
• GP-IB capability: All modes and parameters accessible via GP-IB interface, functions codes are SCPI standard
• Other interfaces: Parallel port (Centronics), RS232C (115200 bps maximum baud rate)
• PCMCIA 2.0 / JEIDA 4.0
• Number of modules: 5 modules - One back-loadable tunable laser module, such as the 81672B, plus four front-loadable modules of any combination of the following:
