The HP 11664A detector must be used in conjunction with either the HP 8755C swept amplitude analyzer, the HP 8756A, or 8757 series scalar network analyzer. The HP 11664A detects RF signal levels from -50 to +10 dBm in the frequency range of 10 MHz to 18 GHz. The use of three HP 11664A detectors, or two detectors and a bridge enables simultaneous (amplitude only) transmission and reflection measurements via the analyzer CRT.

The 11664A detector is designed for operation with the 8757/8756/8755 scalar network analyzers. The 11664A detects the envelope of the 27.8 kHz modulated RF signal to be displayed on the scalar network analyzer.
